2009 Capital Campaign

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on a rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on a rock."

                                                                                  Matthew 7:24-25

Financial Goals:

•  Freeing our operating budget by significantly paying
     down our current debt service.
•  In addition, if we can raise additional funds:
Improving and enhancing our facility. Including
providing adequate parking, kitchen space, and
     office space.

What does Rock Solid Relationships mean?

We are all striving to have a solid relationship with God, with each other, and with our monies. This capital campaign will bring us closer to one another; provide us with an opportunity to give back some of our blessings, and allow us all to participate in the spiritual disciplines of prayer and giving. God challenges us to use our resources wisely. We have been blessed and we need to manage our blessing wisely. This campaign is about taking care of what we have while preparing for the future. The debt reduction will undergird our vision, support our ministries, and have a ripple effect on outreach.

Why do we need a campaign?

We need a campaign for two reasons. First, we need a campaign to help us have an effective, organized way to reach our financial goals. We need to make sure that all of our members are informed, involved, and excited. Secondly, and even more importantly, we need to focus on stewardship as a community. As a congregation, we need to focus on building rock solid relationships. We need your help. Many of you will be receiving a call to help us with the campaign. We want everyone to be involved, but we don't want anyone to be overwhelmed. Hopefully, if everyone helps, then no one will be over burdened. Please prayerfully consider saying yes when you are called to help. All of you will be asked to consider making a financial commitment to this campaign. Again we ask you to begin prayerfully considering your commitment.

Why now?

We know that these are tough economic times. Many of us are worried about the future. Now is exactly the time that our church needs to make sure we are financially sound. We want to be prepared for the future. We do not want to have to continue using money from our annual pledge campaigns to reduce our debt. During these uncertain economic times, we want to stand on solid rock.
