Membership

The Body of Christ is a living, growing group of believers who join hands together to follow God throughout our life journeys.  We hope that everyone who comes through the door at Christ United Methodist Church feels welcomed and accepted.

When you begin to consider formally joining the church, you will want to talk with the Rev. Michele Morton, Minister of Evangelism. She will help you consider the meaning of church membership and help you determine how you may join.

Paths to joining Christ United Methodist Church include:
  • Profession of Faith – You publicly profess your faith before God and the congregation. This is for adults who have not yet been baptized and for youth completing Confirmation classes.
  • Reaffirmation – You publicly reaffirm your faith. This is for baptized adults who are not members of a church.
  • Transfer – You transfer your membership to Christ United Methodist Church from another United Methodist congregation or another Christian denomination.
  • Affiliate – You come to Christ United Methodist Church from another United Methodist church where you desire to keep your full membership.
  • Associate – You come to Christ United Methodist Church from a congregation of another denomination and desire to keep your full membership at that church.
For those considering making Christ UMC their church home we encourage you to attend the six week Inquirer's Class. The class is designed for new persons who wish to get a good orientation to Christ church. The class provides an opportunity to meet other new persons and many of the staff members. The Inquirer's Class meets at 9:45 a.m., during the Sunday School hour, September through June of each year.

If you would like to talk to a pastor about membership, please contact Rev. John Hill.
